Author Event

In collaboration with Mill Street Books, Almonte, the library is delighted to welcome Chloe Hurst discussing her new book, Darkness in Bloom. Darkness in Bloom shares plant profiles, design tips, and inspiration.

You’ll learn the lore of gothic culture and how to integrate undying dark plants (perennials), dark specimen repurchases (annuals), indoor companions (houseplants), and haunting decorations.

Chloe will also present The Goth Garden: Venom in Bloom. This presentation explores the dark beauty of poisonous plants, gothic aesthetics, and dark allure. Blending horticulture, macabre, and atmospheric storytelling, Chloe invites audiences into a shadowy garden where danger and beauty bloom side by side.
